Question1Answer1
-
What is Parent & Child Dedication?Parent & Child Dedication is a special occasion for parents to publicly commit to raising their children in a godly household and dedicating their children to God. Parent & Child Dedication is not infant baptism.
-
Is there a place where I can nurse or bring my child if they are crying?Yes! We have a Parent/Child Room located in our Adult Wing, just past the family bathroom on the left. We livestream the Worship Center to the Parent/Child Room so you don’t have to miss out on the service for nursing or a crying child.
-
How will I be notified if my child needs me?On occasion, we may contact you if your child is in need of your assistance. If that is the case, you will receive a text from one of our check in volunteers letting you know to come back to your child’s classroom. Please keep your phone accessible (on silent or preferably vibrate) so that we can reach you. We may also from time to time put a code on the Worship Center screens if we have been unable to reach a child’s parent via text message.
-
How often do you do Parent & Child Dedications?Parent & Child Dedication takes place twice a year, typically in the months of January and June.
-
How do I sign up for Parent & Child Dedication? When the next date is announced, you can sign up through the Renovation Church app or by at the Welcome Table in the church lobby.
-
How do I know my kids are safe? All Kids volunteers and staff are background-checked and trained before they start volunteering—so know that your kids are in safe hands. In addition to the background check and training, we always have a minimum of two volunteers in every room so that no adult and child are alone together. Every Sunday at Kids Check-In, your family is assigned a random, alpha-numeric code that is on your child’s name tag and your security tag. That security tag is required to pick up your child in their classroom after the service.
-
How much does it cost? There is no fee to join a Renovation U class. However, students are asked to print their own curriculum for Studying God’s Word, Theology 1, and Theology 2, which may incur a small cost. Additionally, Theology 1 and Theology 2 share a supplemental book that students are asked to purchase. If any of this presents a financial burden, please reach out to Pastor John at john@renovationchurch.org.

Homework will include some combination of study work in the Bible, answering questions in the curriculum, and/or reading short sections of supplemental books. -
What order should I take the classes in?Generally speaking, you may start with either First Steps (recommended) or Studying God's Word, but all students must take Studying God's Word before moving into further classes. Once that foundation is set, we recommend taking the Theology classes followed by the Scripture classes.
